UPDATE: ALDOT SR-14 resurfacing project begins April 8

UPDATE, April 14: The Alabama Department of Transportation announced the following update about the resurfacing on SR-14 (Martin Luther King Drive):
"Tomorrow (4/15/26) the contractor will begin milling on the ramp to Shug Jordan Parkway from SR-14 in Auburn. This phase of week should be completed in one day and will cause significant delays due to lane closures.
Travelers traveling on SR-14 are strongly advised to seek an alternate route and others should plan accordingly for delays.

AUBURN, Ala.- The Alabama Department of Transportation released the following announcement about resurfacing on SR-14 (Martin Luther King Drive):
"An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on SR-14 in Auburn begins Wednesday, April 8, weather permitting.
The project will take place on SR-14 from the Macon County line to SR-147 (Shug Jordan Parkway).
This project includes resurfacing and traffic striping.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $4.5 million project was awarded to East Alabama Paving Company, Inc., out of Opelika, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2026.
